Acupuncture is a therapeutic modality based on the principles of Chinese medicine that balances the energy or functions of the body, strengthens the natural resistance to disease, and activates the power of the body to heal itself. Acupuncture along with Chinese herbs is the main form of therapy in Chinese medicine. It consists of the insertion of very fine sterile needles into vital energy points on the surface of the skin, known as acupuncture points. Acupuncture has been used for the relief of pain, the healing of chronic health issues and the prevention of disease for over 2,500 years.
Acupuncture works by stimulating vital energy points that help to balance the yin/yang energies within the body, improve the flow of vital energy or Qi, and restore optimal function of the internal organs, thus enabling the body to heal.
Blockages of energy and blood - reduced nutrients and oxygen supply – compromised organ function - built up of toxic by-products – onset of chronic disease.
